"Cinema Morricone" is an all-new recital celebration of Ennio Morricone in honor of his 90th birthday! Morricone’s most famous and acclaimed film scores are included and presented in a new, exquisitely beautiful way. The maestro's music has been masterfully arranged into new suites in such a way that they maintain all the details of the complete and iconic orchestration but in an intimate and powerful re-imagining of these timeless melodies for flute and piano.
The classics are here! Cinema Paradiso, Once Upon A Time In The West, The Mission, The Legend of 1900, The Untouchables, Giù la testa, Days of Heaven, Once Upon A Time In America and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!
"Cinema Morricone" is a magical and transporting recital program that truly takes us on an adventure through Ennio Morricone's legendary career and life of music!
Our two musicians are also legendary.
On flute we have the great Sara Andon! Sara is an international soloist and a virtuoso of Los Angeles recording sessions. She is a genuine Hollywood original and she has become one of L.A.’s international ambassadors for film music. Sara’s unmistakable tone, not to mention her musical heart, distinguishes her as one of the world’s finest players. She has played for some of the greatest composers in the world and in "Cinema Morricone," she plays for you!
Simone Pedroni is an artist of the highest order. He was the gold medal-winner of the ninth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 1993. He has performed at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and at Carnegie Hall in New York. Simone loves the music he plays, and he performs with such exquisite artistry. His touch on the keyboard is both gentle ... even fragile, and extraordinarily powerful. To see his hands as they perform is to take in an almost balletic dance atop the keyboard.
“Cinema Morricone” is a show created by legendary film music producer Robert Townson.
